山陽新幹線の車両基地の一部を駅として利用可能にしていて、博多駅から短いサイズの新幹線が往復しています。 博多～博多南間はJR的に扱いが特殊な路線だとかで新幹線の各種割引チケットは適用されないのですが、 普通に切符を買っても100円(当時)なので、旅行者的にはまあたいした問題じゃないかなという気がしました。
This station used part of the garage of the Shinkansen. Train stopping at this station is only an exclusive short vehicle.
This route is special administration, the discount for the Shinkansen is not applied. However. Because it is cheap, the common ticket does not have the problem in particular.

駅のホームは短いのが1本だけ、6両の列車だけが停まります。
ホームから正面を見ると車両基地があり、各種新幹線が勢ぞろいしています。電車好きなお子様にぴったりのスポットですね。
Much Shinkansen waits in the front of the platform. For a person liking railroads, this place is very fun.
駅舎内は改札と窓口、それに自販機がある程度、写真では改札に柵が置かれていますが、列車が発着する頃になると開いて改札が行われます。
The facilities of the station are very simple. Fences are usually put, and the wicket cannot be contained. When a train arrives, this fence is removed, and a person to take can enter the station.
駅舎を外から見たところ。右側に見える通路は道路のこちら側にある駅前ビルに繋がっています。
Seeing from the outside, a bridge leads to the other side of the road at this station. I can enter the building with the store when I cross the bridge.
九州新幹線が開通した現在、画像の場所は頭上に新幹線の高架が通っていているようです。
Now, a track of "Kyushu Shinkansen" is established now on this station.
