阪急京都線の京都側の終点です。昔は四条河原町といえば阪急百貨店、高島屋の2つのデパートがドドーンと建っている光景が印象的だったのですが、 阪急百貨店は閉店してしまったんですよね。今はどうなってるんでしょうか?

ホームは3本、島式ホームの両側に2本とその先端に切り欠きでホームが1本あります。 写真では切り欠きホームに電車が停まっていますが、今は臨時で使用するとき以外は島式ホームである1、3番線しか使われていません。
Three platforms are at this station. There is one home in two of them and the center in right and left. The central home is not used now.
鴨川の対岸にある京阪との乗換も多いので、東側出口の途中に京阪の時刻表が掲載されています。

河原町～烏丸駅間は東西に長い地下道で繋がっていて、地上の混雑や雨の心配を回避できるのですが、 その東端の出口が写真の先斗町(ぽんとちょう)付近です。 先斗町は飲み屋や風俗街が中心で、いわゆる「祇園」地区よりはもう少し品の無い地域に当たります。
"Kawaramachi" and "Karasuma" are connected in a passage. Therefore the user avoids crowded ground and can move to the exit nearest the objective place.
A place placed in this photograph is the exit that there is to the east most of the passage. This place is a town called "Ponto-cho", and there are many bars here. This place is near "Gion", but is cheaper than Gion.
