1月 厳島神社 (Itsukushima Jinja Shrine)
海の上に鳥居が立っていることで有名な神社です。 初詣したかったのですが既に三が日が終わっていると言うのにものすごい行列だったため、諦めて鳥居の写真だけ撮ってきました。 ちなみに干潮の時は鳥居のある場所まで地面になるのですが、地面は砂と泥なので転ばない靴で行きましょう。
This shrine has a torii gate on the sea. This place becomes land at low tide, so you can walk to the place of the torii. However, the ground is mostly mud and sand, so you need to wear safe shoes.
2月 宮島口 (Miyajimaguchi Ferry Terminal)
先月行った宮島に渡るフェリーの乗り場です。2つの会社が並行して4隻のフェリーを運行しています。 単純な広さは広島港のほうが広いのですが、4つの船が同じ区間を短い距離で往復しているのが見渡せるのはここだけの迫力の光景です。
This is the boarding point for the ferry to Miyajima that we went to last month. Two companies operate four ferries in parallel. In terms of simple size, the port of Hiroshima is larger, but the sight of four ships making short trips in the same section is a powerful spectacle that can only be seen here.
3月 首里城 (Shurijo Castle)
２ 月の終わりに沖縄旅行に行きました。 ガッカリ名所として有名な守礼門ですが、それよりも再建された首里城の城壁の迫力に驚きました。 2023 年現在、正殿は焼失して再建中ですが城壁の両端にある展望台からの景色は楽しむことが出来ます。
I went on a trip to Okinawa at the end of February. Shuri Castle's gate, "syureimonn", is often said to be a disappointing tourist destination. However, the castle walls built with stone are very impressive and very good. The main body of the palace was destroyed in a fire and is currently being rebuilt. You can enjoy a wonderful view from the observatory at both ends of the castle walls.
4月 母恵夢スイーツパーク (Poeme Sweets Park)
松山市の隣の東温 (とうおん) 市にあるお菓子工場兼即売スペースです。 母恵夢 (ぽえむ) というのはこの会社が作っているお菓子の名前でもあるわけですが、 焼きたてのお菓子がベルトコンベアに乗って運ばれていく様子を見学することが出来、 焼きたてのお菓子をここで買って食べることも出来ます。
It is a confectionery factory and spot sale space in To-on City next to Matsuyama City. "Poeme" is also the name of the sweets made by this company. You can see how freshly baked sweets are carried on a conveyor belt, and you can also buy and eat freshly baked sweets here.
5月 新門司フェリーターミナル (Shin-Moji ferry terminal)
フェリーに乗って東京まで旅行してきました。 この画像の船は多客期のみ日本海航路から配船される「すずらん」です。 オレンジフェリーのサイズにも驚きましたが、それよりも更に大型のこの船は 送迎バスで港に近づくにつれ、工場か倉庫かと思うような巨体に圧倒されました。
I traveled to Tokyo by ferry. The ship in this image is "Suzuran", which is dispatched from the Japan Sea route only during the high passenger season. I was also surprised by the size of the Orange Ferry, but this ship, which is even larger than that, As we got closer to the port on the shuttle bus, I was overwhelmed by the gigantic structure that made me think it was a factory or a warehouse.
6月 七辻 (that's where seven roads crossing)
フェリーで東京に行った際に訪問した場所で、文字通り七本の道が交差する交差点です。 交差点の中央に立つと確かに七本の道がこちらに向かってきているのですが、 写真に撮ろうとすると交差している箇所が微妙にずれているために七本の道路全てを同時に収めることが出来ない、というのもポイント高いです。
This place is an intersection in Tokyo, where seven roads intersect in one place. If you stand in the middle of the intersection and look around, you can see that seven roads are heading this way. However, if you try to take a picture of the intersection, it has an artistic element that you cannot take pictures of seven roads at the same time.
7月 下関漁港閘門 (The lock of Shimonoseki fisher's port)
下関の日本海と関門海峡を結ぶ水路間に生じる水位差を軽減するために設置された水門で、 普段は道路ですが決まった時間帯には画像の巨大な構造物が道路を持ち上げて水路になるという場所です。 道路と水路が切り替わる時間を狙って訪問したのですが、故障中で道路の状態に固定されていました…
This is a lock for small fishing boats to pass through. It is installed to reduce the water level difference that occurs between the Sea of Japan and the Kanmon Straits. At certain times of the day, the massive structure in the image lifts the road into a waterway. Unfortunately, it was out of order on the day I went to see it and it didn't work.
8月 スカイレールタウンみどり坂 (Skyrail Town Midorizaka)
広島県の山沿いにある住宅地です。ここは急な斜面に住宅が建設されているので、 楽に移動できるように「スカイレール」という特殊な鉄道が設置されています。 しかし多くの家庭が自動車を所有するようになったため、採算の取れないスカイレールは廃止し、電動バスに置き換えることが決定しました。
It is a residential area along the mountains in Hiroshima Prefecture. Because the houses are built on steep slopes, A special railway called "Skyrail" is installed so that you can move easily. However, as more households now own cars, it has been decided to abandon the unprofitable Skyrail and replace it with electric buses.
9月 大三島 宗方港 (Munakata port, in Omishima island)
大三島は瀬戸内海の島にある島で、しまなみ海道によって結ばれている島の一つです。 そのため現在ではフェリーで上陸するのは多くは地元の人で観光客が利用することはあまりないのですが あまり賑わっていない港で波の音を聞いて過ごすのはとても気持ちが良い……のですが日差しが強いと超暑いです…。
Omishima is an island in the Seto Inland Sea that can be visited by boat. You can also visit by car because the bridge is connected now. Many tourists come through the bridge, so not many people land at the port. It is very comfortable to spend time listening to the sound of waves in a quiet harbor. But it's very hot.
10月 鉄道歴史文化館 (The Railway History Park, Saijo city, Ehime pref.)
東海道新幹線建設時の国鉄総裁 「十河信二」 氏の功績を記念して作られた四国の鉄道に関する展示が行われている場所です。 画像の展示車両はレールの幅が異なる路線を同一の車両で走行する「フリーゲージトレイン」の試験車両です。 技術的な試験を終了して試験車両はこのように展示されているものの、残念ながら実際の運用はまだされていません。
This is the place where an exhibition about Shikoku's railways is held, created to commemorate the achievements of Shinji Sogo, the president of the Japanese National Railways during the construction of the Tokaido Shinkansen. The exhibited vehicle in the image is a test vehicle for a "free gauge train" in which the same vehicle runs on routes with different rail widths. Although the test vehicle has completed technical testing and is on display like this, unfortunately it has not yet been put into actual operation.
11月 綾瀬水門 (Ayase water gate)
某アニメで登場した印象的な水門にミーハーにも飛びついて巨大構造物Sugeeeeeとなったのでいつものような輪郭も書かずにいきなりガシガシ色だけで描きました。 河川敷なのでそんなにわかりにくい場所ではないのですが、道に迷ってものすごい遠回りするわ延々上り坂だわで 着いた頃には下半身がビキビキになって画像のような変な笑顔がこみ上げざるを得なくなっていたのでした。
This place is a water gate that appeared as an important place in the anime. It is originally a famous water gate and is an easy to find place, so if you live nearby you can easily go there, but I got lost and took a very long detour. And because I got lost, I walked such a long distance that my legs hurt and my face naturally turned into an unnatural smile.
12月 エミフルMASAKI (Emuful MASAKI)
春には巨大ひな段、夏には七夕と季節のデコレーションが飾られるエミフル MASAKI。年末にはクリスマスツリーが飾られます。 ツリーの中央にはLED付きプロペラを使って絵が浮かび上がるデコレーションが着いているのですが、残念ながら写真には撮れませんでした……。
This shopping center displays a variety of seasonal decorations. A big Christmas tree is decorated at the end of the year. There is a decoration in the center of the tree that makes a picture appear, but unfortunately I was not able to take a photo of it.
