当サイトのメインコンテンツであるはずの駅写真です。以前は駅を巡ってはその場所の写真を撮っておいて後で思い出に浸っていた(?)ものなのですが、地の果てに飛ばされてもはや駅写真を撮ることも無くなるであろうと思うので、過去に撮った写真を大きくリサイズして思い出を復習するコーナーに生まれ変わりました。

This corner records the photograph of the station which I photographed in the past. And I visited many stations and took a photograph in old days. However, I cannot go to the station anymore now because I moved in the country. Therefore I make the photograph which I took in the past big and I intended to place it once again. And I place a then impression.

日本にフィーチャーフォン再び

Orbicがフィーチャーフォンを日本で発売、日本に生産拠点も
キャリア三社ですら法人向けとおじいちゃんフォン、あとは老害クレーマー向けアピール用に商品ラインアップだけ挙げておいて実際には取り扱ってないような状態なのに何を今更感が半端ないですね。しかも Mozilla も開発を投げ出し、一時期導入を進めていた Nokia も匙を投げた KaiOS というこれまた今更感。

それはともかくとして、日本での発売が決定しているので当然といえば当然なのですが日本語の表示、入力が出来るようになっているのは良いですね。あと私が以前買った Nokia の端末は VoLTE の接続が弾かれていたのですが、これも繋がるようになっているということなので 3G が停波しても安心です。日本ではおそらくガラケーを未だに使っている人々の乗り換え先として売り込むと思うので UI なんかも日本のガラケー群を意識してカスタマイズしてくると思うのですが、そこらへんをどこまでいじってくるかが気になるところですね。

Nokia に実装されてた UI が標準のものなのか、あるいは Nokia (というか HMD Global) がカスタマイズで入れたものなのかはわかりませんがあれが標準だとしたらそのまま日本仕様に入れたら絶対クレームになるような品質なんですよね。しかもバグが多いとかではなく、仕様として設計されている動作やデザインがおかしいという。

記事のインタビュー中で品質の問題で納期が遅れることになったとありますが、これが OS のカスタマイズを指しているなら技術力以前にプラットフォーム選定のレベルで調査能力が不足しているんじゃないですかねとしか言いようがない。

ハードウェアの品質が基準に達していないと言うなら…日本のガラケーが無駄に過剰スペックぶっこんてるのも昔から言われてるのでアジアの新興国向けみたいになんか動いてるように見せかけときゃいいだろレベルの物が通用しないのはそれこそ何を今更ですよね。いずれにせよご愁傷さまとしか言うことで。

ところで記事中のスライドに出てる JOURNEY Pro 4G とやらについて、公式に詳しく説明してないかと思ったんですがまだ開発中のを発表した段階なのか、具体的な製品情報は見つかりませんでした。代わりに製品一覧に先代の機種と思われる Orbic Journey V という機種がラインアップはされているものの、公式サイト中で詳細なスペックが公開されてないし各キャリアのショップサイトは日本からは弾かれるしでどうせいっちゅうねんという気分です。
