和田岬 - Wadamisaki -

東海道本線の兵庫駅から分岐する和田岬支線の終点です。 ほぼ通勤客専用の路線なので、時刻表が朝と夕方のごく一部の時間帯以外はほとんど白紙であるという点で珍しがられたりもします。 そのため、昼間に駅を見に行こうと思うと、隣の兵庫駅から歩いてくる必要がありました。 現在は地下鉄が近くを通っているので、頑張って歩く必要もありませんが。
This station is a terminal of Wadamisaki Line. This route diverges from Tokaido Line and is intended to transport a person commuting to a factory. The train of this route runs in the morning only in the evening. This is because it is intended only to transport a person going to work.
また、この支線の駅はどちらもホームが西側なので、ドアを片方潰して定員数を増やした和田岬線専用車両なんかもありました。
There was the exclusive train which ran by this route in old days. As for this train, only one less had a door to carry many people.
現在は写真の駅舎は既に取り壊されており、質素な駅舎に建て替えされているようです。
The building appearing in this photograph does not exist now. It is the simple structure that the current station is small.

この写真では良くわからないのですが、中央の平屋の建物が和田岬駅の駅舎です。 駅周辺が工事中なのと、駅前の道路は交通量が多いのでちょうどいい距離から撮影できなかったようです。

フェンスの向こうから駅舎を撮影。 自分で撮っておいてなんですが、今見返すとどの場所からどういう構図で撮ったのかさっぱりわかりませんな……
駅舎正面。割と立派な建物ですが無人駅です。 通勤時間帯以外は列車が来ないので、当然ながら人の気配がありません。
I took a photograph from the front of the station. There is the place where a person in charge waits in the building, but it is really unmanned and is managed.
